The Miniature Florentine Chessmen

The miniature set is a compact set in a Renaissance period design, beautifully executed. The chessmen are made of an antiqued ground stone with the opposing side stained a rich burgundy brown. Renaissance Florence has often been described as the birthplace of modern individualism, as reflected in the individual genius of its great artists, scholars, and statesmen. This set features Florentine nobility for the king and queen, an authority of the church for the bishop, a Florentine column for the rook, equestrian soldiers for the knights and foot soldiers for the pawns.
